Cool-FX Trial in Turkey: Promising Results for Livestock Farming
A recent trial of Cool-FX in Turkey has delivered encouraging results for livestock farmers looking to manage heat and energy more efficiently. Conducted at a commercial chicken barn operated by BEST TAVUKÇULUK A.Ş., the study compared the performance of a Cool-FX coated barn with an identical uncoated barn under the same conditions.
The findings highlight measurable benefits in temperature regulation, energy usage, and overall livestock management, showing how Cool-FX can contribute to improving farming operations.
Key Findings from the Trial:
-
Cooler Roof Temperatures: The coated roof stayed 15°C cooler than the uncoated roof during application, helping reduce heat entering the barn.
-
More Stable Indoor Climate: Internal temperatures in the Cool-FX coated barn were lower by as much as 7.3°C during the hottest parts of the day. This temperature reduction was achieved while the cooling systems were turned off, showcasing the coating's standalone effectiveness.
-
Energy Efficiency: Over the 42-day trial cycle, the Cool-FX coated barn used 12% less electricity compared to the uncoated barn, a meaningful saving for daily operations.
-
Livestock Health and Efficiency: The coated barn saw a 21% reduction in animal loss, and a 3% increase in total meat production. The Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), a key indicator of feed efficiency, also improved by 4%.
These results clearly show that Cool-FX offers practical benefits for farmers seeking effective and sustainable solutions to common challenges in livestock farming.
